First of all let me clear something up, I am Steve Bird – artist * musician * film-maker from Newcastle Under Lyme.  That’s Newcastle in Staffordshire, UK.  I have to say this, because by some freak of chance there is another Steve Bird who originates from the other Newcastle i.e. Newcastle on Tyne who also happens to be an artist, musician and film-maker – now how bloody weird is that!

Well now that we’ve cleared that up, let’s move on.

This website is about me.  it’s about the things that I have done in my life, the things that I am doing now and the things that interest me.  It’s all going to be a bit informal and definitely eclectic as I am a total jack-of-all-trades with interests in all kinds of things both trivial and important.  It is an opportunity for me to bring together things that have so far been seperate and to possibly take things a little less seriously than I have done in the past.  If you would like to see the more serious side of things then you are welcome to visit my other website at www.soundmangler.co.uk where you will find examples of my film work and the research for my PhD (which I have just put on the back burner for a while).
